Junior doctors in Kolkata intensified a hunger strike demanding justice for a murdered woman medic and workplace safety. More healthcare professionals joined, including Aniket Mahato from RG Kar hospital. The protestors outlined nine demands, including the removal of Health Secretary NS Nigam, increased police protection, and a centralized referral system for hospitals. The strike followed a renewed 'cease work' after an attack on doctors and the failure of state government to fulfill their previous demands.
