The Kolkata sessions court has found Sanjay Roy, a Kolkata Police civic volunteer, guilty of the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in August 2021. The court based its verdict on forensic evidence and a DNA match.
