The Tamil Nadu government announced on Wednesday that Samsung India Electronics has agreed to most of the demands made by its striking workers. However, the registration of the workers' union, backed by the CPI(M) affiliated Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), is still a contentious issue. Some strike participants were arrested by police on Tuesday, but later released.
