💨 Abstract
The Supreme Court refused to stay the ongoing panchayat elections in Punjab on Tuesday, stating that intervening on polling day could cause chaos. The court agreed to hear challenges against the Punjab and Haryana High Court's decision allowing the elections, which began at 8 am that day. The high court had earlier dismissed around 1,000 petitions seeking the cancellation of these elections.
