💨 Abstract
The Allahabad High Court has expressed concern over the misuse of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 for obtaining compensation. Justice Manju Rani Chauhan suggested measures to prevent such misuse, including a pre-registration verification process, training programs for law enforcement, an oversight body to monitor complaints, public awareness campaigns, and a rigorous verification process before filing FIRs.
