Security forces in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, successfully averted a potential tragedy by detecting an improvised explosive device (IED) on March 18. The IED was spotted by a patrol party and a bomb disposal squad was summoned to defuse it. This is the second such incident in two days, following the defusal of a similar IED in Kulgam district on March 17.
