Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant apologized for an alleged derogatory remark aimed at rival Shiv Sena assembly election candidate Shaina N C. Sawant claimed his comments were distorted and used for political purposes, and said he has always respected women. The incident sparked a case, with Shaina alleging Sawant called her "imported maal". National Commission for Women also demanded action in the matter.
