💨 Abstract
An assistant signal and telecom maintainer was killed by a speeding train while performing track maintenance in Bhopal. The Indian Railways S&T Maintainers' Union (IRSTMU) raised safety concerns, alleging the administration's failure to provide adequate safety measures. The union also complained of a shortage of walkie-talkies, essential for awareness of train movements, and demanded a 'risk and hardship allowance'.
