The Sikkim government has implemented a Rs 50 entry fee for tourists, effective from this month. The fee will be collected at hotels and deposited into the Tourism Sustainability Development (TSD) Fund for tourism infrastructure improvements. The revenue generated will be used to enhance road connectivity, improve cleanliness, and develop tourism infrastructure. All tourists, except those under 5, are liable to pay the fee for up to 30 days.
