A stampede occurred near India's busiest and richest temple, the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, resulting in six deaths and 35 injuries. The incident took place during the distribution of free visit passes, as thousands of devotees gathered to secure them. The stampede occurred when the gate was opened, and people pushed through.
