💨 Abstract
The Samajwadi Party (SP) announced candidates for six of the ten Uttar Pradesh assembly seats due for by-elections this year, despite the Congress demanding five seats. The Congress had expected a comeback in Haryana but won 37 of the 90 seats, while in Jammu and Kashmir, the NC-Congress alliance won 49 seats but the Congress only six of the 32 it contested.
