Tension erupted in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, as villagers tried to install a Durga idol near a graveyard. Police detained the organizer, Daya Prakash Shukla, and deployed force in the area. The land is registered in the name of Kali Mata and the matter is pending in the high court. The administration acted following a court order and warned against unauthorized statue installations.
