On January 14, Delhi was engulfed in thick fog, causing zero visibility and disrupting train schedules. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted light rain for the day. As of 6 am, 39 trains were delayed. The city experienced dense to very dense fog (visibility less than 50 metres) and a maximum temperature of 21.2 degrees Celsius, 1.3 notches above normal.
