The Similipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha released a Royal Bengal Tiger named Jamuna into the wild from a soft enclosure. The tigress was brought from Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra to improve the gene pool and combat inbreeding in the reserve, where 50% of the tigers are melanistic.
