💨 Abstract
The Supreme Court ruled that the timeline for recommending and granting prosecution sanction under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) must be strictly adhered to, as timelines in such cases are crucial for checks and balances. The court added that challenges to prosecution sanction under UAPA should be raised at the earliest possible opportunity, to enable trial courts to determine if they have the competence to proceed further.
