Trinamool Congress MLA Tapas Saha, 66, died at a Kolkata hospital on May 15 after suffering a brain haemorrhage. Saha, representing the Tehatta constituency in West Bengal's Nadia district, was admitted to the hospital after collapsing on Tuesday. His death prompted widespread grief among party workers and constituents. A senior party member, Saha was known for his grassroots connections and was close to Mamata Banerjee.
