West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar and MLA Niladri Shekhar Dana made controversial statements at an election rally in Bankura, claiming the BJP would win if the state machinery was neutral and asking people to arm themselves for self-defense respectively. Majumdar alleged that the police were acting like TMC party cadres, while Dana's statement about buying tools for self-defense went viral on social media.
