💨 Abstract

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released draft regulations for vice-chancellor appointments, aimed at enhancing transparency and eliminating ambiguity. The regulations specify the composition of the search-cum-selection committee, with members nominated by the chancellor, UGC chairman, and university's executive council or senate. The new rules also expand the eligibility criteria for VC candidates to include individuals from industries, public administration, or public policy.
