💨 Abstract
TRAI has released recommendations for a regulatory framework for Ground-Based Broadcasters (GBB), allowing them to utilize terrestrial communication mediums to deliver television channels to distributors. GBBs can use multiple terrestrial communication systems, and may also switch to satellite medium with government permission. The service area for a GBB is national. The framework also considers the compliance of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels with existing guidelines.
