The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has called on the central government to urgently sanction a special package for flood victims in Tripura. Unprecedented floods in the state last month caused extensive damage, resulting in 36 deaths and displacing 1.29 lakh people. The TPCC president, Asish Kumar Saha, criticized the government for not providing assistance and demanded the state be declared a national disaster area.
