A full-grown elephant was severely injured after being hit by a speeding train in Tripura's Khowai district on Saturday night. The District Forest Officer (DFO) said that the train, which was supposed to run at 20 km per hour as it is an elephant corridor, was possibly running at 50 km per hour, causing severe injuries. Both the elephant's back legs were fractured.
