On November 15 in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, two women, Mamta Devi (34) and Suman Rajbhar (45), were fatally struck by a train near the Sahatwar railway station. The women were on their way to bathe in the Ganga River during Kartik Purnima when the accident occurred at a level crossing. The injured women were taken to a local health center but were pronounced dead.
