đź’¨ Abstract
The Uttarakhand High Court has issued notices to 159 soapstone mining lease holders in Bageshwar district due to allegations of causing cracks in houses. The court had earlier banned all mining operations and is dissatisfied with their continued operation. The state government has been asked to file its reply within four weeks. The police have seized 124 mining machines from the area.
