In response to the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , authorities in six border districts of Uttar Pradesh took action against encroachments and unrecognized religious institutions. In Shravasti, Balrampur, Bahraich, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, and Lakhimpur Kheri districts, illegal and unrecognized madrassas were either demolished, sealed, or razed.
