In Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, a woman named Iktesha Siddiqui alleged that her husband, Shabaz Ahmad, gave her 'triple talaq' over the phone due to her failure to meet his dowry demands. She claimed he had abused her and kept their children hungry. Siddiqui moved to her maternal home in Mumbai in March and accused him of planning to remarry on November 7.
