The Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission chairperson, Babita Chauhan, has called for the death penalty for Jamaluddin, the alleged mastermind of a religious conversion gang. Jamaluddin is accused of targeting girls from various communities and keeping a conversion “rate list.” Chauhan condemned his actions as part of a “well-orchestrated conspiracy.” She stressed that stringent laws are in place to curb illegal conversions.
