đź’¨ Abstract
The Bombay High Court has ruled that the use of loudspeakers is not essential for any religion and directed law enforcement agencies to take immediate action against those that violate noise pollution norms. The court also asked the state government to instruct religious institutions to use calibrated sound systems with auto-decibel limits and to consider issuing directions for the calibration of loudspeakers used in places of worship.
