💨 Abstract

The Uttarakhand High Court has temporarily halted all mining activities in Bageshwar district due to damage to dwellings caused by sandstone mining. The court found the state officials negligent and turning a blind eye to the issue. The court commissioners' report showed that the mining activities had caused cracks in houses across villages in the Banda area, potentially leading to landslides and loss of life.
