A local TMC leader, Ashok Shaw, was shot dead in Jagaddal near Kolkata on Wednesday. The incident occurred while he was standing at a tea stall, close to the Jagaddal police station. Simultaneously, crude bombs were also hurled. Shaw was rushed to a nearby hospital but died from his injuries. A suspect was arrested later in the day, and others injured in the attack were receiving treatment.
