In West Bengal's Paschim Bardhaman district, a 27-year-old event management professional, Suchandra Chattopadhyay, was killed in a road accident while trying to escape from eve-teasers who were chasing her. The incident occurred at Panagarh around 3 AM while she was traveling with three colleagues to Gaya for a function. Two other passengers sustained serious injuries.
