The CBI has challenged the Delhi High Court's suspension of former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s life sentence in the 2017 Unnao rape case before the Supreme Court. The CBI argues that the High Court misinterpreted the common purpose of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the POCSO Act, both of which penalize the abuse of authority.
