💨 Abstract

The Supreme Court has refrained from staying some provisions of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, after the Modi government assured it would not make new appointments to the central Waqf Council or state boards, nor de-notify properties including waqf-by-use. The government has been given time to present the history and context of the law to the court.
