💨 Abstract

India lacks ideological political parties and instead has parties based on various identity groups. They advocate for more government intervention, agricultural subsidies, and freebies for the poor without effective identification of the deserving. The article suggests that India needs a new, urban-only party to focus on urban interests, where new jobs will be created with infrastructure investments and deregulation. Urban areas house a growing population, generate substantial state revenues, and require improved infrastructure.
