Haryana Assembly elections saw a surprise victory for the BJP under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Saini, who was initially considered a scapegoat for a possible defeat. Despite a poor performance by the BJP in Lok Sabha polls and reduced campaigning by Prime Minister Modi, Saini's affable personality and rallies across the state led to a significant victory for the BJP.
