💨 Abstract

Yari Nayam, a 27-year-old doctoral researcher from Arunachal Pradesh, is the first female independent candidate from the Northeast contesting for the post of general secretary in the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) elections. She represents students who feel marginalized due to their rural, tribal, queer, or poor backgrounds.
