In Haryana, 17 officials have been suspended within 10 days by four state ministers, including police personnel, over allegations of corruption and irregularities in development works. The suspensions have raised concerns on propriety, protocol, and principles of natural justice, as ministers do not have the mandate to interfere in operational matters or directly suspend personnel. This trend undermines the institutional framework necessary for a disciplined and professional police force.
