In Uttar Pradesh, a draft electoral roll has revealed that nearly 2.89 crore names, or 18.7% of voters, may be deleted, with significant deletions in BJP strongholds like Lucknow and Ghaziabad. Minority-dominated districts saw fewer deletions. The BJP is concerned, as these deletions could affect their voter base, while the Samajwadi Party sees an opportunity to strengthen its organization.
