The BJP government in Odisha announced year-long celebrations for the 125th birth anniversary of 'Utkal Kesari' Harekrushna Mahtab, a Congress chief minister who opposed Indira Gandhi and the Emergency. Celebrations will include state-level functions, a memorial museum, books, a biopic, and a centre at Utkal University.
