💨 Abstract

Researchers at Amsterdam UMC and Moffitt Cancer Center discovered that chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) causes a severe energy crisis in T cells, hindering their ability to proliferate. This energy crisis is caused by the mitochondria in T cells not functioning properly in CLL patients. The researchers found that an existing drug, which affects energy management, greatly improved the effectiveness of CAR T-cell therapy.
