The BCCI has decided to abolish the Impact Player rule for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, following criticism from players like Rohit Sharma who felt it hindered the development of all-rounders. The rule, introduced a few years ago, was initially extended to the IPL but will be retained there till 2027.
