💨 Abstract

The West Bengal government criticized the BCCI's decision to move IPL playoff and final matches from Kolkata to Gujarat, alleging political motivations. State Sports Minister Aroop Biswas claimed that the relocation was not solely based on weather forecasts, as rain was also possible in Gujarat. Biswas argued that the decision was politically driven to sideline Bengal and deprive Kolkata fans of the event. The BCCI had cited weather concerns for the move, originally scheduled for Eden Gardens.
