Norwegian biathlete Johannes Thingnes Boe, who won four gold medals at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, has announced his retirement at the end of the current season. Boe, who also won a gold medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, cited the demanding combination of elite sports and family life as his reason for retiring.
