💨 Abstract
The FIDE General Assembly in Budapest has agreed to consider lifting parts of a ban on Russian and Belarusian players imposed after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. The proposal, put forward by the FIDE Council, suggests consulting the International Olympic Committee (IOC) about allowing some players and teams, such as those with disabilities or children under 12, to return to international events.
