Bela Karolyi, the former coach who trained Nadia Comaneci to become the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 at the Olympics, has died at the age of 82. Karolyi, who defected from Romania to the US in 1981, coached Comaneci at the 1976 Montreal Olympics and later worked with Mary Lou Retton and other successful US athletes.
