Carlos Sainz, the defending Dakar Rally champion, was forced to withdraw from the race after his Ford Raptor was damaged in a crash on Sunday. The 62-year-old Spanish driver, who won the rally with Audi last year, flipped his car upside down in the dunes and sustained damage to the safety cage.
