Singapore bids farewell to a 182-year-old horse racing tradition at the Kranji racecourse, which is closing to make way for development projects. The Singapore Turf Club, established in 1842, held a grand farewell on Oct 5, featuring 10 races and hosting thousands of racegoers. The 124-hectare land will be returned to the government by 2027 for housing and development.
