Manchester City progressed to the fourth round of the League Cup, defeating Watford 2-1 at The Etihad. Matheus Nunes scored his first City goal and Jeremy Doku also found the net. Watford's Tom Ince scored a late consolation, but City held on. Meanwhile, Chelsea thrashed fourth-tier leaders Barrow 5-0, with Christopher Nkunku netting a hat-trick.
