Valencia secured a 2-0 win over Girona in LaLiga, moving out of the bottom spot. The goals came in quick succession in the second half, with an own goal by Juanpe and a deflected strike by Dani Gomez. Valencia were largely toothless in the first half, but Girona, who made six changes from their Champions League match, struggled to create chances and were often caught on counter-attacks.
