Elena Rybakina, the former Wimbledon champion and current world number four, has withdrawn from tournaments in Beijing and Wuhan due to a persistent back issue. She aims to return to action before the WTA Tour's season finale in Riyadh in November. Rybakina has had a challenging year, with multiple withdrawals due to illness and injury, and recently split from her long-time coach Stefano Vukov.
