Australian investment firm Macquarie will invest up to $5 billion in AI data center provider Applied Digital, taking a 15% stake. Macquarie will invest up to $900 million in a data center campus in North Dakota and has the right of first refusal for additional investments. Applied Digital's shares increased by 15% in premarket trading following the announcement.
